I have a place of storage
That’s frankly an utter disgrace,
Safe in the knowledge
That everything is securely in its place…
No archive files or fancy chest
Or cabinets to curtail my mess,
No costly items of furniture
To enhance my paper architecture.
Simpler and more foolproof than that
A modest structure, still reasonably flat:
Inelegant, perhaps, but simple and static
(So much less worry than filling the attic!).
No boxes,no chests. no labels required
To marshal this exquisitely personal mire,
A strategy that appeals to me.
No shape or form to dent or defile:
The answer, good reader?
The humble Pile.
*Well, just the one, actually…
